Resurrection Catholic School serves students in Pre-School , ages three and four year olds. We also have kindergarten through eighth grade. We currently have over 380 students, and are constantly growing. We are located on the West Side of Evansville in the County of Vanderburgh and are part of the West Deanery of the Diocese of Evansville.
Our school has proudly served our student body for more than forty years. We are accredited by the State of Indiana. All of our teaching staff members are licensed in the areas that they teach, and have either bachelor's or master's degrees, and continually seek professional development opportunities. We have been designated a Technology Model School for the SINE program. In addition to our home room teachers, we employ full time teachers licensed in the following areas: Music, Art, Physical Education. We also have a librarian and a counselor. Our administrative staff includes the principal and two secretaries. Our support staff includes a teachers' assistant, an extended care director and extended care staff, cafeteria director and staff, a playground supervisor/coordinator, and maintenance people.

Q. How many students attend Resurrection?
A. Currently we have over 380 students. We have two sections of each class.
Q. What is the school calendar?
A. We generally begin school mid-August, and finish in late May (180 days per year, as required by the State of Indiana). Our school days run from 7:25 AM -2:00 PM.
Q. Is your school accredited by the state, and are the teachers licensed?
A. Yes, to both questions.
Q. Are teachers specially trained?
A. In order to provide good programs in all areas of the curriculum, we follow state requirements and hire teachers licensed in the areas they teach (e.g. Art, Music, P.E., Library, Primary and Middle School subject areas, etc.).
Q. Do you offer before and after-school programs?
A. We provide a before and after-school care program for a fee. Our before care starts at 6:30 AM. After School, we are open until 6:00 p.m. whenever school is in session. The fee for the morning is $1.50. The fee for after school is $5.00 which includes a snack and a drink.
Q. Do you have a lunch program?
A. Yes, we do. We have three full time cooks with assistants that serve our children with delicious home cooked and nutrious meals.
Q. Do you have a gym, and sports teams?
A. Yes on both counts! In most sports we have two teams. A green and a gold team. For instance we have a total of 14 basketball teams for girls and boys from grades 3 - 8. We start our wrestling program in the first grade. We have football offered through the Mater Dei High School Cub Program. Soccer begins in third grade.
Q. Do students have daily instruction in religion?
A. They have instruction in religion, except on our all-school Mass days, held once a week. On those days they attend a liturgy planned by a class and their teacher. There are many other prayer opportunities, especially during Advent and Lent.
Q. At what grades do students participate in sacramental preparation?
A. Catholic students receive First Reconciliation in the winter and make their First Communion in the spring of second grade.
Q. Do you have a program for students with learning disabilities?
A. Yes, we have a full time teacher to help with learning problems and we also work with the Evansville School Corporation to help our students.
Q. Will you work with students who might be ahead of classmates?
A. Yes, we are glad to do as much as possible to meet students’ needs.
Q. Have you won any Academic Awards?
A. Yes! Since entering the Indiana Academic Bowl in 2002, we have won the following honors. In 2004 We were honored as State Champion Class 4 in Math and State Runner up in Interdisciplinary. In 2002, we were State Runner Up in Class 4 in English. Other awards are in Class 4. 2002 Top Ten in Math, Science, Interdisciplinary. In 2003, Top Ten in English and Interdisciplinary. In 2004, Top Ten in Math, English, Interdisciplinary and Top Ten Statewide.
