BOXTOPIA WINNERS
Congratulations to the first grade for winning the Boxtopia contest for the first grading period. Each first grade teacher will receive $75 from RPC to spend on classroom supplies. First graders also enjoyed free dress on Wednesday. The second graders came in a very close second place, so they also received free dress. Keep saving those labels! They earn cash and recess equipment for our school!

WAR ON HUNGER
The Resurrection Student Council is declaring a War on Hunger. They will begin this battle on Monday, November 17th and conclude it on Friday, November 21st. To help them conduct the war, students are asked to bring in food for a food drive. The school will be divided into teams according to grade level. Each grade level is a team. They will have boxes in their classrooms to place canned food items they would like to donate to St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. The class will receive points for every canned item in the box. Five points will be given for every can of vegetables, meat, juice, sauce, gravy, or soup. Ten points will be given for every can of fruit or tuna. Boxes will be sent to the cafeteria following morning announcements and prayer.
To make the competition more exciting, one grade may also subtract points from another grade’s total by placing boxed items in their box at lunch time. Boxes of macaroni and cheese, boxes of cereal, and peanut butter will subtract 10 points each. Other boxed items including: Jell-O, cake mix, instant potatoes, stuffing mix, powdered sugar, brown sugar, pudding, and pasta will subtract 5 points.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY SINGLE SERVING ITEMS OR ITEMS IN GLASS JARS.
Rewards will be given to the winning classes. First place receives: movie and popcorn, and an extra recess. Second place receives: extra recess.
In the past this has been a fun activity that has brought a lot of food to stock the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. Can we make this a record year?

THANK YOU FOR DONATION
Thanks to Carpet One Floor and Home on Diamond Ave., here in Evansville, for donating new carpet squares to our music room. The students often sit in a circle or in small groups on the floor while doing activities in Music class and these mats will come in quite handy.
